Title	ROCHDALE CORPORATION
Description	The Rochdale gas undertaking was formed in 1824. Improvement Commissioners purchased the company in 1844 and the undertaking remained in the ownership of the Corporation until 1949. The works were in Dane St. In 1872 the Rochdale Improvement Act enabled additional lands to be taken for extensions to the works. In 1949 it became part of the Oldham - Rochdale Group of the NWGB There are only property and technical records in this collection. It includes four site plans of the works, four drawings of plant, photographs of the works and a sketch of mains. [1929 - 1949]
