Title	WILMSLOW AND ALDERLEY EDGE GAS COMPANY
Description	The first gas supply in Wilmslow was privately ownedby William Bower and was started in 1851. It remained as a small private works until 1864 when the Wilmslow and Alderley Gas Light Co Ltd was established. In 1872 this became a statutory undertaking and changed its name to the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge Gas Co. The works were on Church St. In 1949 the undertaking joined the Manchester Group of the NWGB. There is only one item in this collection: an estate plan.
